Deficit Spending

I’ve often read that when a democratic president is in place, the economy blossoms. It is a myth that republican presidents are fiscally responsible, running up huge deficits and generally stifling the economy. Another article on just that appeared in Sunday’s Chronicle.


Is there any question that we need to put Barack Obama in office?

Just Who IS Sarah Palin?

The big question on Sarah Palin's mind is who is Barack Obama, really? And why doesn't he tell the truth about his relationship with Bill Ayers? Well, where has she been the last four years? Obama was put forward as presidential potential after his speech during the convention that nominated John Kerry for president. He's also publicly denounced the extremist past of Ayers.

If Obama has been "pallin'" around with Bill Ayers, what does that say for his judgment? Yes, Ayers set off bombs in protest of the massive bombings the U.S. conducted during the Vietnam war. Obama was 8 years old at the time. Later they served on a board together, community service, promoting education reform, and they lived in the same neighborhood. Bill Ayers happens to be a regarded citizen at this point, wishing he had been more effective at stopping the war, but changing his violent tactics...

So, while all that and much more detail about their relationship is a matter of public record, what I'm wondering is just who IS Sarah Palin, and what kind of America does she envision? What was/is her relationship to Joe Vogler, Jack Coghill and Mark Chryson and what do they and the Alaskan Independence Party have in mind in terms of a vision for America? And what does it say about her judgment that she's pallin' around with them?
